    Getting Started

    1. How do I assemble my Hoover® REACT™?

    a. Watch this short video on how to assemble your Hoover® REACT here

    Or follow these easy steps:

    a. First, insert the handle into the wand until it clicks.
    b. Next insert the wand into the spine until it clicks into place.
    c. Now, attach the hose to the hose connector, and store your tools onboard for easy accessibility while cleaning.
    d. To start cleaning, step on the nozzle and pull the handle back.
    e. Power your vacuum ON and ensure FloorSense™ is switched ON.
    f. The FloorSense™ dashboard will light up and detect your floor type.
    g. You’ll see the words CARPET or HARD FLOOR illuminated depending on the floor you’re cleaning.
    h. You can open the Suction Control Valve as needed if there is too much suction on your floor.
    i. Press the handle release and remove the handle—then attach your desired accessory for detailed cleaning around your home.
    j. Or, remove the wand to get extra reach for hard-to-clean spaces up high.

    General

    1. Can I turn my brush roll off?

    a. Yes, to turn the brush roll off, you must be connected to the Hoover App.
    b. Ensure FloorSense™ is in the ON position on your vacuum.
    c. Go to the FloorSense™ settings in the App and press "CUSTOMIZE".
    d. Select “BRUSH OFF” under the hard floor section.
    e. Your brush roll should now be OFF.
    Note: When the FloorSense™ switch is in the OFF position, your brush roll will continue to run.

    2. Why is my vacuum hard to push?

    If you notice your vacuum is hard to push, this could be because the vacuum’s suction is too powerful. To resolve the issue, slide the Suction Control Valve down to allow more air to flow through the vacuum, which will make your vacuum easier to push.

    3. When do I need to empty my dirt cup?

    For optimal performance you should empty your dirt cup after every use or when the dirt, dust and pet hair reaches the Max Fill Line indicated on the side of your dirt cup.

    2. How do I connect my vacuum to the Hoover App?

    a. Watch this short video on how to connect to the Hoover® REACT app here
    b. Download the Hoover App from the Apple Store or Google Play.
    c. Go to your Phone’s settings and ensure your Bluetooth® is ON.
    d. Once you’ve downloaded the App, make sure your vacuum is ON.
    e. Swipe right to select UPRIGHTS.
    f. Press CONNECT to begin searching for your vacuum.
    g. Once your unit is found, select it in the App.
    h. A green check mark will appear and the headlights will flash three times once you are connected.

    3. Why should I download the Hoover App?

    a. You can register your new vacuum

    4. Will my vacuum remember the last customization I’ve made in my Hoover App settings?

    Yes, your App will remember the last customization you made in the FloorSense™ settings. If you want your vacuum to be in a different mode than the last time you cleaned, you must update your customization in the Hoover App.

    5. Do I have to use the Hoover App for FloorSense™ to work?

    No, FloorSense™ will still work without the Hoover App. To ensure FloorSense™ is optimizing the brush roll speed on every floor type, switch the FloorSense™ button to the ON position. We recommend you download the Hoover App in order to customize your FloorSense™ settings.

    Maintenance

    1. How often should I clean my vacuum filters?

    We recommend cleaning your filters every 4-6 uses. It is important to keep your filters clean to ensure optimal performance and maintain No Loss of Suction† on your vacuum.

    2. What do I do if I forget how many times I’ve used my vacuum since I’ve cleaned my filters?

    The Hoover App features a System Check Reminder. Once you’ve run your vacuum for 6 hours, the Hoover App will remind you to perform regular maintenance checks on your vacuum, including cleaning the filter.

    Note: Remember to always reset the System Check clock after every maintenance check.

    3. How do I access and clean my Rinsable Filters?

    a. Watch this short video on how to access and clean your Rinsable Filters here

    Or follow these easy steps:

    a. To access your Rinsable Filters, remove the dirt cup by pressing “Dirt Cup Release” on the top of the canister.
    b. Pull up on the “Washable” tab and remove the filters from your vacuum.
    c. Do not bend the filters. Rinse the filters under running water until the dirt is not visible and the water runs clear.
    d. Let the filters dry for 24 hours before placing it back into your vacuum.
    e. Never use your vacuum without your filters.

    4. How do I access and clean my HEPA Filters?

    Or follow these easy steps:

    a. To access your HEPA Filters, unscrew the HEPA Filter covers on each side of the unit and remove the covers.
    b. You can find the screws under the canister.
    c. Remove the Filters and tap them on the inside wall of your trash can to remove excess dirt and dust.
    d. Replace the Filters and screws and continue normal operation.
    e. DO NOT RINSE THE HEPA FILTERS.
    f. If you’d like to replace your HEPA Filters, visit Hoover.com to purchase filters and accessories.

    5. How do I clean my Cyclonic Filter?

    Or follow these easy steps:

    a. To clean your Cyclonic Filter, remove your dirt cup and press the “Cyclone Access” button on the front of your dirt cup.
    b. DO NOT PULL THE “CYCLONE ACCESS” TAB.
    c. You can remove the Cyclones by pulling them up and out of the dirt cup housing.
    d. To clean the cyclones, wipe away dirt and dust with a micro-fiber cloth or the Dusting Brush (included with your vacuum).

    6. The “Clog” indicator is illuminated on my vacuum. How do I check for clogs?

    a. Visit the Hoover App or watch this short video on how to remove a clog here

    Or follow these easy steps:

    a. If you receive a system alert, power OFF your REACT and check the air path for clogs.
    b. Make sure the dirt cup is empty.
    c. Then check the hose inlet for any obstructions.
    d. Check your rinsable filters for dirt and debris. If they’re dirty, rinse them off and let them dry before replacing them.
    e. Make sure your HEPA filters are clean, too.
    f. Next, disconnect the hose, and check the connector for blockages.
    g. Also, be sure to check the hose and remove any visible clogs.
    h. Then pull out the wand and check it, too.
    i. If your vacuum still isn’t picking up as it should, don’t hesitate to contact Customer Care 1-877-839-2046.

    7. My vacuum has shut off on its own. Is it broken?

    Hoover® REACT™ vacuums have a Thermal Protector to keep the unit from overheating. Let your vacuum cool down for 30 minutes before continuing use. If your vacuum does not turn ON after 30 minutes has passed, it may need servicing. Please contact Customer Care about servicing your Hoover® REACT™ by calling 1-877-839-2046.

    8. My “clog” light is displaying when I use the crevice tool, but I can’t find any clogs.

    Open the Suction Control Valve to allow more air to flow through the wand. This should make the clog light turn OFF. If this does not solve the problem please watch this short video on how to remove clogs here or refer to question 6 for more information.

    9. How do I clean my brush roll?
