IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING HOOVER WINDTUNNEL BAGLESS CANISTER VACUUMS
POTENTIAL HAZARD
This alert is limited to select models of the Hoover® WindTunnel Bagless Canister models (S3755). Some of the power cords between the power nozzle base and wand connector may experience a short circuit. If a short circuit occurs, the canister hose may melt and fire or shock hazard may result if the brush roll switch is left on while the vacuum is plugged into an electrical outlet. To date, there has been one report of fire and smoke damage and two reports of carpet damage. There has been one report of minor injury, namely a blister.
MODEL NUMBERS AFFECTED
All models with carton date codes for the years 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 (last two digits are 03, 04, 05, 06, 07) are affected. Models with carton date codes for January through May 2008 are also affected (01DD08, 02DD08, 03DD08, 04DD08, 05DD08).
IDENTIFYING AFFECTED VACUUMS
Affected vacuums may be identified by the model number and either the serial number(located on the vacuum) or the carton date code (located on the retail carton).
Location of Model Number and Manufacturing Date Code
The model number and manufacturing date code are printed on the product data label, which is located on the lower rear part of the vacuum (see FIGURE A).

Location of Model Number and Carton Date Code
The model number is located in the lower right front panel of the carton and the carton date code may be found on the back panel of the carton (see FIGURE B).
I HAVE AN AFFECTED MODEL, WHAT DO I DO?
If you have an affected model, stop using it immediately and call 888.564.2066 (M-F 8AM-7PM ET). You will be sent a carton and self-addressed, prepaid label in which to return the nozzle and hose to our repair center. The repair center will fix the power nozzle and hose and ship it back at no charge to you.
